Random Thoughts

No today I am not under hallucination.

April 6, 2010 - 76 CRPF Policemen Killed

May 17, 2010 - 20 Policemen and Several SPOs Killed

Modus - An IED blast followed by gunfire and then a close gunfire to make sure no one is alive.

SPOs? Who are they? Special Police Officers, they are local civilians who assist policemen in fighting. In this particular case they are the tribal's who are part of Salwa Judum.

Salwa Judum - A State Supported and Sponsored [Violent] Movement in Chhattisgarh, civilans [that includes children's] are armed and trained with rifles to fight against Naxalites.

Birth of Salwa Judum - Bastar [Mineral Rich Region of India] June 2005, Tata Steel Company and Chhattisgarh State Government signs a Memorandum of Understanding [MoU] for opening of a Steel Plant. Rs. 10,000 crore MoU gave birth to Salwa Judum which means 'Purification Hunt' in local Gondi language.

Naxals - A movement born on 18 May, 1967 at Naxalbari, West Bengal which grew to become one of the biggest Internal Security Threat to India due to impotence of Government.

Policemen - Functioning under 'The Police Act of 1861' which is still to be replaced by 'The Police Act, 2007' in most states of India, armed with Lathi or .303 Lee Enfield rifle.

Bastar's Story - India's own version of 'Blood Diamond'.

Naxals kill and rape villagers, hunted by State/Central Government - Salwa Judum kills and rapes villagers, pardon and protected by State Government.

Villagers - For generations had lived in forest, their main source of livelihood, resettled by Government to protect the forest. Basic amenities still a distant dream for many of them.

Mining Companies - Tatas, Jindals, Birlas, Arcelor Mittal, POSCO, Vendanta Resources, Phelps Dodge, ACC - Rio Tinto, CRA, De Beers, Anglo American Exploration, BHP Minerals, Pro Am, Alcan, Norsk Hydro and Ashton Mining

Development - ?

Bapuji once stated that - State is a "Soulless Machine" which according to him does the greatest harm to mankind. He feared that the state would abrogate the rights of the citizens and arrogate to itself the role of grand protector and demand abject acquiescence from them.

Future - ?

Now - More Bloodshed.

At the end of day, I AM SAFE SO ARE YOU, WHY CARE ABOUT SOMETHING HAPPENING IN BASTAR REGION AND SHED CROCODILE TEARS.

Back to smoking pot.

Killing a Shadow

At 44 degrees celsius, all the mortal were heading towards the shade. This mortal was heading exact opposite to them, where he was sure that no living soul would dare to venture at this temperature. The land was barren, winds were strong and the sun was snipping all the fluid from his body, but this mortal cared for none. Walking at top speed he was completely detached from the rest and that made him happy like anything. The more he walked, the more he was lost and the more he was lost, the more happier he felt. Life is such a mystery that you can't define what would please a living soul. And then there are exception for all.

This mortal after walking for a long time came upon a place where there was none other than a strong dry wind and a furious sun. His cloths were soaked in a sweat, and body screaming for water. Gulping down the little water that was left in a bottle, he looked around to find hills at a long distance and dry grass all around him, dissatisfied with the place he threw the empty bottle, got rid of the sack he was carrying and started to walk further. His knees were getting weak and dizziness was overpowering his will of walking, yet against all the odd he kept on walking.

All this mortal had got with him was an unbearable pain of things that over a time had accumulated in his mind and a perfect solution for this. A perfect solution just to make him feel immortal and to take any thing down that he felt was dangerous and painful. A question was arising in his mind, why did in the first place did he left the painful things get accumulated in his mind? Ignoring this mind he kept on walking, but his speed decreased and his feet were swaying. It looked like he was going to collapse at any given moment, yet you can see him gathering the strength to keep him walking and walking towards an unknown.

And at this moment he found that he wasn't really alone, the expression on his faced changed suddenly when he saw his own shadow following him, matching foot to foot and hand to hand. He felt angry with his shadow and picked a heavy stone laying around and threw it on his shadow, only to see his shadow and some part of it over the stone, furious he picked another stone that fit in his hand, sat down and started beating his shadow. The sweat from his body was draining in the soil and his hand was bleeding, laughing and crying loudly, he had no idea what to with his shadow and kept beating his shadow.

After sometime, giving up his act of lynching the shadow, he stood and ran as fast as he could. All he saw while running was hills coming closer to him and it made him feel happy. With all the strength left, he ran as fast as he could only to collapse. He felt his head hitting a stone and to check whether he is bleeding or not he pushed his hands towards his forehead, swiped it and was was bring back the hand towards his eyes. He dint saw any blood on his palm, but once again he saw his own shadow laying next to him.

He laughed for a moment and putting his hand in his pocket he brought a pouch out, with his trembling hand he picked a bottle and a syringe out of it. There was a syringe needle in his other pocket, shifting his body on other-side with a terrible pain he picked the syringe needle from a newly brought packet and fitted it on the syringe, and filled it with crystal clear liquid from the bottle and injected it in his veins and saw his black shadow turning white and he having a last laugh.
